Faisal Taha
President
Faisal Taha serves as a principal at Lawless & Mangione Architects & Engineers LLP. He has been practicing engineering since 2006.
Born in Kuwait, travelled to many countries in the Middle East and settled in New York in 2001. As the only popular sport in the Middle East, Faisal fell in love with the game of soccer from his childhood and played in the streets of his neighborhood, school leagues and professionally for a short period.
Faisal is the father of 2 young, Wael and Adam. Wael has the same connection to soccer and plays with the school team at Woodland MH school.
Faisal’s deep-rooted connection to soccer and her desire to give back to the community led him to join the start and join the board, where he is committed to helping the sport grow and thrive at the local level.
Faisal holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from SUNY New Paltz. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
Tyler Steinfeld
Director of Coaching
Tyler Steinfeld is a dedicated and passionate soccer coach with four years of experience leading the boys varsity program at Woodlands High School.
With a deep love for the game rooted in his own playing days, Tyler grew up participating in both recreational and club soccer. Although financial barriers prevented him from continuing at the club level, his determination and commitment to the sport never faded.
Now as a coach, Tyler brings that same resilience and passion to his teams, focusing on player development, discipline, and building a strong team culture.
He understands the importance of opportunity and strives to create an environment where every player, regardless of background, can grow both on and off the field.
At Woodlands, he has become known for his ability to connect with his athletes, foster leadership, and inspire a love for the game.
Through his coaching, Tyler hopes to not only build competitive teams but also help young athletes realize their potential and develop life skills that extend far beyond soccer.
Chris Gomez
Technical Director & Field Coordinator
Chris has been playing soccer since he was 8 years old. His passion led him to play and compete in the Central Jersey Sectional Finals for Hopewell Valley Central High School (07’-‘11) and furthermore become a 4 Year starter at Moravian University (‘11-‘15). **previously known as Moravian College**
After college, he acquired his certification from the USSF - United States Soccer Federation to be a licensed coach, and NASM - National Academy for Sports Medicine to be a certified CPT.
He has helped propel athletes of all ages and skill levels - from 5-year-old recreational players to 22-year-old pros all over New Jersey.
Thais Conlon
Registrar & Fundraising Coordinator
Thais Conlon serves as the Assistant Regional Commissioner for AYSO Region 95, a role she has proudly held for the past three years.
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Thais fell in love with the game of soccer at just five years old. Some of her earliest and most cherished memories involve playing soccer in the streets of Brazil with her family, a passion that continues to inspire her today.
A dedicated youth soccer coach for the past seven years, Thais is also a proud soccer mom to her two sons, Chris and Edward, who both play the game she loves. Her deep-rooted connection to soccer and her desire to give back to the community led her to join the board, where she’s committed to helping the sport grow and thrive at the local level.
Thais holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Education. She is fluent in English, French, and Portuguese, and brings a global perspective and inclusive spirit to everything she does.
Her leadership, experience, and enthusiasm make her a valuable asset to our organization and to the families we serve.
Abby Friedman
Sponsorship Coordinator
Abigail Friedman is a dedicated soccer player and coach whose passion for the sport has been evident throughout her athletic and professional journey.
Abigail played club soccer in Narberth, Pennsylvania. As a four-year varsity soccer player and team captain for Lower Merion High School, she demonstrated leadership and commitment on the field
Her experience and skills led her to coaching roles at Morning Star Academy, where she mentored young athletes, and at the Manitou Wabing Sports and Arts Centre, where she taught soccer, fostering a love for the game among youth.
Abigail’s contributions to soccer reflect her dedication to developing talent and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
Harley Friedman
Treasurer
Harley Friedman is a dedicated real estate professional and the owner of a property management company, Cygnet Realty I LLC. He is also an admitted attorney in New York State.
Raised in Chappaqua, New York Harley’s academic journey includes attending Hackley School for high school, Davidson College for his undergraduate studies, and New York Law School for his law degree. After completing law school, where he met his wife, he returned to Chappaqua to settle with his family.
A lifelong soccer enthusiast, he has been deeply involved in the sport for many years. Harley played competitive soccer from a young age, including as the varsity goalkeeper in high school for three seasons. He coached as both a goalkeeper and field coach at the Futures Stars Soccer Camp during both his high school and college summers.
Harley is the proud father of three children, Shane (14), Jude (12), and Lily (8). Together with his wife, Abigail, Harley remains committed to supporting his children’s passion for the sport while contributing to his community. He is excited to bring his leadership experience, love of soccer, and commitment to the nonprofit soccer team’s mission as a board member.
